Kraft Heinz Co., Chicago, announced that despite earlier reports, its Fullerton, Calif., production factory will remain open.
The decision comes approximately 10 months after Kraft Heinz announced the consolidation of its North American manufacturing footprint. Plans at the time called for the closure of the Fullerton plant. This announcement secures the jobs of the more than 360 local workers.
“This announcement means so much to our people,” says Frank Woodson, Fullerton plant manager. “Our employees in Fullerton take great pride in their work, and have a strong track record for producing high-quality products.”
The 170,000-square-foot manufacturing plant was built in 1972 and is one of three facilities producing LUNCHABLES meals.
