Blount Fine Foods, Fall River, Mass., introduced a new line of organic side dishes for foodservice, including Barbecue Beans, Black Beans, Butternut Squash, Creamed Corn, Creamed Kale & Spinach, Creamed Spinach with Mushrooms, Lentils & Chickpeas, Mac & Cheese and Mashed Sweet Potatoes.
“Every day, deli managers and buyers are talking to us about how to expand and enhance their prepared foods offering, especially in hot-to-go where the more forward-thinking chains are starting to rise above the pack,” says Bob Sewall, executive vice president of sales and marketing. “Few actions by retailers tell consumers you are serious about your hot-to-go cuisine better than the introduction of dishes that are certified organic.”
All sides ship frozen in four 4-pound bags; six varieties can be ordered refrigerated.
