Tippmann Innovation (TI), Fort Wayne, Ind., began work on an advanced pre-conditioning center located in Pharr, Texas, for Index Fresh.

Index Fresh is a Riverside, Calif.-based producer of avocados. TI worked with Index Fresh’s engineering and management team to design the state-of-the-art facility, with future plans to meet increasing capacity requirements.

Dana Thomas, president and CEO of Index Fresh, has been intimately involved in the entire design process. His 36-year experience in the avocado business was integrated into the final design of the facility.

The 60,000-square-foot ripening and storage facility features six ripening rooms and 2,600 pallet positions.
