Gina Nicholson Kramer, RS/REHS, executive director for Savour Food Safety International, Worthington, Ohio, joined her husband, Bob Kramer, RS/REHS, and five other partners (Vince Fasone, Barb Hunt, Joe Kramer, Miguel Manzano and Gerry Nunn) to purchase Sherwin Food Safety, Baltimore, Md., and re-named it Savor Safe Food.
Savor Safe Food, also based in Worthington, will expand upon the food safety services Sherwin Food Safety offered, such as quality assurance audits, food safety training, crisis response assistance and more, the foodservice, grocery and lodging industries.
“Ed Sherwin, president and founder of Sherwin Food Safety, was an industry trailblazer, working with culinarians in the hospitality industry to emphasize that food safety was their responsibility and should become embedded as part of their business culture,” Kramer says.
Savor Safe Food also adopted the Sherwin ScoreÒ, an integrated, independent third-party verification system to ensure clients are following food safety standards. The company also partners with Goodwin Hospitality, Concord, N.H., for audit tools and mystery shopper program and FoodLogiQ, Durham, N.C., for software and solutions relative to food recalls, traceability and supplier engagement.
“Savor Safe Food has assembled a team of top-quality food safety partners with extensive experience in education, auditing, behavioral change, government regulations, HACCP compliance and crisis management,” Fasone says. “We take an innovative approach to food safety, serving independent restaurants, multi-unit food service businesses, hotels, conference facilities, cruise lines, government offices, convenience stores and supermarkets.”
