Regal Beloit Corp., Beloit, Wis., released the GlacAir motor and fan, which utilizes an axial flux electronically commutated motor (ECM) design for higher-efficiency commercial refrigeration applications such as reach-in coolers.

The GlacAir motor and fan can replace a 4W, 6W or 9W PSC or SP motor to reduce energy consumption, while providing constant speed control. It also achieves IP66 and IP67 ratings, and the smaller design provides more flexibility, allowing additional space for product display or a reduction in the size of the refrigeration equipment.
