AGRO Merchants Group, Atlanta, acquired Transmode, a regional transportation business based in Paulsboro, N.J. This transaction enhances AGRO’s North East transportation operations with a primary focus on meat and other protein commodities. Vince D’Anella, owner of Transmode, will continue as director of transportation.
Transmode’s operations are split between port drayage services and outbound transportation to distribution centers and processing facilities.
“This transaction is a natural fit for our business, which continues to grow and specialize in the commodity and value-added services segments,” says Dave Moore, president of AGRO Merchants North America. “Vince is an industry leader with whom AGRO has enjoyed a long-standing business relationship through our Mullica Hill operations led by Dan Sorbello. This business combination gives us scale and operational benefits to better support our customers’ supply chain. I look forward to working with Vince and his entire team as they join AGRO Merchants Group.”
“I am pleased to be part of AGRO Merchants Group,” adds D’Anella. “Our two companies have collaborated for years to the benefit of our many shared customers. Transmode and AGRO share common values, commodity expertise and a focus on delivering value to our customers. I am confident that this strategic combination will accelerate our national growth strategy and enhance the company’s service offering.”
