Burris Logistics, Milford, Del., announced plans to relocate Honor Foods, the company’s foodservice redistribution business, to a newly purchased 28-acre site in Philadelphia, Pa.
The new warehouse and office will provide Honor Foods with the capacity needed to better serve its nearly 800 customers in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic states. The $50 million investment will also create over 100 new jobs through the first 10 years at the new location. The new site is expected to open in 2020.
“Because of the service provided by our incredible team members, Honor Foods has truly been busting at the seams,” says Donnie Burris, chief executive officer of Burris Logistics. “This new facility will triple our capacity and will better enable us to serve both our customers and our vendor partners.”
“We are thrilled to be able to take this 70-year-old company to another level while importantly, being able to retain our Philadelphia roots, customers and team members,” adds Walt Tullis, president of Honor Foods.
