NORD Gear Corp. celebrates 40 years of business with the company’s sixth plant expansion of its Waunakee, Wis., headquarters manufacturing facility.
The $6.2 million project adds 86,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space to help NORD increase capacity and ensure a continued short lead time delivery of gear boxes, motors, frequency inverters and industrial gear units.
“We continue to grow, so we almost tripled our capacity with our new paint line. On a daily basis, we currently assemble on average 650 gear units and 300 motors,” says Torsten Schultz, U.S. president. “We’re also expanding our facility in Charlotte, N.C., by 15,000 square feet this year. Our top business growth areas are in the warehouse logistics, airports, food and beverage and the grain industry. So, whether customers are designing new baggage handling systems, conveyors for warehouses or mixing tanks for food processing, NORD offers engineering support.”
