FlexXray, Arlington, Texas, acquired Accu-ray, an Elmhurst, Ill.-based provider of inspection solutions for food manufacturers throughout the United States and Canada. The combined company will operate as FlexXray, effective immediately.
FlexXray helps manufacturing facilities detect and recover foreign material contamination that can occur during production or packaging. The company works with more than 900 U.S. production plants.
This acquisition expands FlexXray’s ability to provide greater access to the highest level of inspection services, with operations now in Texas, Connecticut, and Illinois.
“This is one more important step toward building our national footprint,” says Randy Jesberg, president of FlexXray. “By adding Accu-ray’s technology and service offerings to our existing services, we’re able to provide our customers the best practices and equipment from both companies. This allows us to create stronger, more efficient operations.”
The acquisition also increases the number of x-ray inspection machines and introduces a substantial fleet of metal detector rental machines.
“At the end of the day, this brings us closer to our customer base, gives us greater operational capacity and allows us to offer customers a faster turnaround time,” says Chris Keith, vice president of sales, marketing and customer service for FlexXray. “That means we’re able to find more foreign material and keep it from entering the food supply.”
