Dollar General Corp., Goodlettsville, Ten., established a new cold storage facility in Schuylkill County, Pa. The project is expected to support the creation of 100 new jobs, when at full capacity.
This expansion is part of Dollar General’s new initiative toward a strategic shift to the self-distribution of perishable goods sold in stores. The cold storage facility is currently distributing to approximately 300 stores in the Northeast. The project includes the purchase of a 148,000-square-foot building in Pottsville, Pa., which is expected to create 100 new full-time jobs over the next three years.
