Amcor, Australia, acquired Chicago-based Bemis Co. Inc., effective June 11. The combined company will operate as Amcor plc.

"The acquisition of Bemis brings additional scale, capabilities and footprint that will strengthen Amcor's industry leading value proposition and generate significant value for shareholders," says Ron Delia, chief executive officer of Amcor.

Amcor produces responsible packaging for food, beverage and consumer products, among others, and operates approximately 245 locations in more than 40 countries.
