Butterball, one of the largest producers of turkey products in the United States, announced that it is investing a combined $8.7 million and creating a total of 360 new jobs within three years in two processing facilities in Northwest Arkansas. The expansion includes a $4.7 million investment in Ozark where the company will create 160 jobs and a $4 million investment in Huntsville where it will create 200 new jobs.
Facility will be in Harrisonburg and create 100 jobs for the area.

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam announced that Shenandoah Valley Organic (SVO), a family-owned organic chicken company, will establish a second 75,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in the City of Harrisonburg. The new facility will increase production capacity and retail packaging, allowing for more product availability in leading grocery stores across the United States. Virginia successfully competed with West Virginia for the project, which will create 110 new jobs.
Tyson Foods announced plans to build new production facilities in China and Thailand, and expand its facility in the Netherlands. The latest expansions, adding over 100,000 metric tons of fully cooked poultry capacity, build on the company’s global growth strategy to become the leader in protein by serving emerging markets and strategic customers.

Darigold announced an expansion of its organic pool of Northwest farms and expansion of its broad-based organic capabilities and product offerings. While the company has had organic members for years, and has been processing organic milk and been working with co-pack partners for years, it is now also working directly with B2B customers to produce custom organic ingredients and with retail and foodservice channels to make packaged organic products.
Hispanic Cheese Makers-Nuestro Queso is celebrating a significant expansion at its facility in Kent, Illinois. The $15 million investment includes new processing and packaging equipment, expanded cooler space and additional capacity to meet demand for further expansion in the future.
Key Technology is teaming up with Bem Brasil, the largest potato processor in Brazil, to add a new state-of-the-art potato strip processing line to Bem’s Perdizes facility. This multimillion dollar purchase includes six VERYX digital sorters, an ADR EXOS automatic defect removal system, three Sliver Sizer Removers and 57 Iso-Flo vibratory conveyors on a line designed to process 30 metric tons of frozen french fries per hour. Bem chose to partner with Key to maximize food safety and consistently meet final product quality specifications while improving operating efficiencies and increasing yield.
Larger facility will also bring 225 new jobs to Salina, Kansas, and will continue to produce Tony's and Red Baron frozen pizzas.

The new facility will result in up to 225 new, full-time jobs by 2023 in Salina and include automated state-of-the-art pizza-production lines, shipping and receiving docks, and office space. The company already employs 1,125 people at its current 550,000-square-foot production facility and distribution center in Salina. Additional projects are planned for the Salina site over the next several years as Schwan’s plans for continued growth in the company’s pizza business, representing an investment of several hundred million dollars in total.
