As part of its strategy to increase production of consumer ready products, Tyson Foods is expanding its case-ready meats business by repurposing plant capacity in South Carolina.
Butterball, one of the largest producers of turkey products in the United States, announced that it is investing a combined $8.7 million and creating a total of 360 new jobs within three years in two processing facilities in Northwest Arkansas. The expansion includes a $4.7 million investment in Ozark where the company will create 160 jobs and a $4 million investment in Huntsville where it will create 200 new jobs.
Tyson Foods announced plans to build new production facilities in China and Thailand, and expand its facility in the Netherlands. The latest expansions, adding over 100,000 metric tons of fully cooked poultry capacity, build on the company’s global growth strategy to become the leader in protein by serving emerging markets and strategic customers.
Hispanic Cheese Makers-Nuestro Queso is celebrating a significant expansion at its facility in Kent, Illinois. The $15 million investment includes new processing and packaging equipment, expanded cooler space and additional capacity to meet demand for further expansion in the future.

In order to increase production capabilities, Jones Dairy Farm underwent an expansion and renovation of the former McCain Foods Inc. plant. This included a 68,183 sq-ft. addition to the existing processing plant, resulting in a 306,263 sq-ft. total facility. The expansion consisted of a new process area, refrigerated truck dock, employee area mezzanine, and parking and site improvements.
