The company behind some of Europe’s iconic frozen food brands including Birds Eye, Findus, iglo and Ledo announced the results of its 18 month study, exploring if frozen food storage temperatures can be increased.
“Delicious Decarbonization Through Integrated Electrification and Energy Storage” project will reduce annual emissions by more than 99% from 2022 levels.

Kraft Heinz will use the funds to install a range of technologies, including heat pumps, electric heaters, electric boilers, anaerobic digestors, biogas boilers, solar thermal, solar photovoltaic and thermal energy storage.
The proposed project would cut 14,000 metric tons of carbon emissions per year, a major step in moving toward carbon neutrality for the factories that produce Ben & Jerry’s, Talenti, Magnum, Breyers and other leading brands.
Kraft Heinz aims to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its operational footprint and entire global supply chain by 2050.

Launched in 2004, the SmartWay program helps companies advance supply chain sustainability by measuring, benchmarking and improving freight transportation efficiency.
Through this program, Organic Valley will include direct farmer payments for carbon reduction and removal, as well as cost-share for design and implementation of climate-smart agriculture practices.
