Continuing its expansion into the United States, Mexico's Grupo Lala has finalized its acquisition of New Jersey-based Farmland Dairies.

Teamsters Local 200 members said they were informed that Saputo Inc., Montreal, expects to close a condensed milk processing plant in Fon du Lac, Wis.

National Dairy LLC, Houston, said it purchased Promised Land Dairy Distribution Inc., a San Antonio, Texas-based processor of all natural milks, half and half and heavy whipping cream.

Looking to increase its U.S. presence and boost its whey protein business, Arla Foods Amba, Viby, Denmark, said it agreed to a whey processing and marketing deal with Green Meadows Foods, LLC.

Milk and cheese processing giant Emmi, Lucerne, Switzerland, said it purchased Roth Kase USA Ltd., a Monroe, Wis., specialty cheese processor.
