Consumers want simple foods they can prepare at home and that don't compromise on quality.

In advance of its Sept. 18 financial release, ConAgra Foods Inc., Omaha, Neb., said that "underperformance" in the company's Consumer Foods segment will impact first quarter 2009 diluted earnings per share from continuing operations.

ConAgra Foods announced that it will now use post-consumer recycled plastic in its frozen meal trays.

ConAgra Foods, Omaha, Neb., says it is now using between 30 percent and 40 percent post-consumer recycled plastic in nearly all frozen meal trays for Healthy Choice, Banquet, Kid Cuisine and Marie Callender's products.
