Organic Valley, La Farge, Wis., announced what is said to be a first-of-its-kind community partnership that will enable it to become the largest food company in the world to source 100% of its electricity from renewable sources.
The 50/50 joint venture will serve as a strategic growth platform for both companies.

The program will drive more acres in the United States into the organic certification process, and builds upon General Mills' commitment to double the organic acreage from which it sources ingredients by 2019.
