Mann Packing, a subsidiary of Del Monte Fresh Produce and one of the largest suppliers of packaged vegetables in North America, has opened its new facility in Gonzales, California. Joining a lineup of California facilities in Salinas, Chualar, Delhi, and one in Yuma, Arizona, the new fifth facility will allow Mann Packing to grow its business, elevate its existing operations and provide an innovative new space to help the brand continue to meet consumer needs.
Fresh Del Monte Produce has announced that it has joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), which aims to drive ambitious climate change action in the private sector by enabling companies to set science-based emissions reduction targets. The company joins SBTi as the first global marketer of fruits and vegetables to commit to reducing its carbon footprint to assist with limiting global warming to well below 2 °C. This commitment further showcases Fresh Del Monte Produce’s sharpened focus to operating sustainably and implementing sound, science-based practices throughout its global operations; further leading the way within the produce industry.
Del Monte is launching a new line of vegetarian pocket pies under its Veggieful brand, scheduled to arrive on store shelves May 25. Veggieful Pocket Pies come in four different flavors: Broccoli Potato Cheddar, Spinach Artichoke Parmesan, Plant-Based Philly Cheesesteak, and Rosemary Garlic Plant-Based Chicken.
As part of this supply chain restructuring, Del Monte will close and sell certain manufacturing operations.
