SugarCreek is very aware of the developing COVID-19 situation, our first priority is that our teammates and their families stay healthy. While we already have a high level of sanitation and food safety programs in place, we are increasing those efforts significantly at all of our facilities.
As COVID-19 continues to expand throughout the U.S., we want to communicate our commitment to business continuity. We are currently fully operational, though we remain focused on the health of our employees. To that end, we have many staff working from home as well as essential onsite staff available to ship orders and answer inquiries.
Hormel Foods has taken action to protect its global workforce of 20,000 team members and stakeholders during the COVID-19 outbreak. In addition, the company announced its pledge of $1 million in cash and product donations for hunger relief and food insecurity as a result of this crisis.
A person who has tested positive for COVID-19 was on-site at the Georgia World Congress Center during MODEX 2020 (March 9-12). This person was working on-site for a trade show marketing and labor provider from March 4-14. We are told the person tested positive on March 17 and is recovering at this time.

A M King, a fully integrated Design-Build firm, has begun renovation of an existing shell building for Martin’s Distribution Inc., a Charlotte-based food distributor. The new food distribution and storage facility will allow the company to capitalize on growing demand from its customers for fresh, quality products. The project is scheduled to be completed by May 2020.

US Foods Holding Corp. (“US Foods”) today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores (“Smart Foodservice”) from funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, Inc. (the “Apollo Funds”) for $970 million in cash.

As part of a commitment to food safety, KeHE is proud to announce it has earned the Cold Carrier Certification, the first certification of its kind focused on excellence in refrigerated transportation. The Cold Carrier Certification program was initially piloted by several companies, including KeHE.
Three new models have been added to Carrier Transicold’s next-generation Supra series of diesel-powered truck refrigeration units, providing more powerful cooling choices for small to large box trucks. Carrier Transicold is a part of Carrier, a leading global provider of innovative HVAC, refrigeration, fire, security and building automation technologies.

In order to increase production capabilities, Jones Dairy Farm underwent an expansion and renovation of the former McCain Foods Inc. plant. This included a 68,183 sq-ft. addition to the existing processing plant, resulting in a 306,263 sq-ft. total facility. The expansion consisted of a new process area, refrigerated truck dock, employee area mezzanine, and parking and site improvements.
