When it comes to climate change, some consumers view agriculture as a part of the solution rather than the problem. Among participants in Cargill’s recent global Feed4Thought survey, those who indicated climate change as important to them also rated livestock and agriculture lowest in negative impact compared with other industries generally regarded as significant contributors. More than one-third of respondents expressed confidence in the industry’s ability to limit its contributions to climate change.
To celebrate Earth Week and highlight its commitment to corporate responsibility, SpartanNash announced its slate of Earth-friendly initiatives taking place companywide April 23-25. For the 10th year, SpartanNash is teaming up with Goodwill Industries partners to hold Earth Week donation drives for customers and company associates. Working with Goodwill organizations in Michigan, Nebraska and South Dakota, customers who bring in donations to any participating Goodwill store between Friday, April 23 and Sunday, April 25 will receive a coupon book of savings.
