The company was the first in the world to create vegan cheese from plant-based milk using fermentation technology and patented processes it says creates a product nearly indistinguishable from dairy-based cheese. 

New retail partners now carrying the deliciously melty zero dairy slices include, Fresh Thyme Market, Town and Country Foods, and Fred Meyer stores.

The voluntary recall comes as a precaution after a temporary issue developed on one of their wrapping machines, making it possible that a thin strip of the individual film may remain on the slice after the wrapper has been removed.
