GEA has built a new cheese making plant for dairy brand Madeta in the Czech Republic. The new plant, which has a staff of 150, can process up to 400,000 liters of milk a day – twice the capacity of the company's former facility.
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly and Hilmar Cheese Company jointly announced the company’s decision to build a new state-of-the-art cheese and whey protein processing plant in Dodge City, Kansas. The new facility is expected to create 247 new jobs and represents $460 million in capital investment. The project is estimated to bring an additional $550 million in capital investment and 750 new jobs within a fifty-mile radius of Dodge City by late 2023.
California Dairies, Inc. (CDI), today announced it will cease operations at its Artesia, California, manufacturing facility, effective immediately. The entire facility will close, affecting approximately 49 employees.
Foremost Farms USA will close its Chilton, Wisconsin, manufacturing facility in July 2020. Built in the 1940s, the Chilton plant makes Italian cheeses including Provolone which is sold into the foodservice market for sandwiches. The 53 employees who work at the location were informed of the company’s plans.
The floor area within a dairy farm or processing plant is subjected to a long list of damaging and deteriorating factors, such as traffic from rubber boots, cattle and forklift trucks, heavy machinery, lactic acid spillages and intense cleaning routines. Despite these challenging conditions, the floor finish needs to provide a clean platform that keeps both food products and employees safe.
