Sanderson Farms, Inc., Laurel, Miss., selected a new location for the construction of its next poultry complex.

Maple Leaf Foods Inc., Toronto, said it will close a prepared meats facility located in Surrey, British Columbia, on September 30, 2011.

Citing strong demand for fresh, boneless chicken, Sanderson Farms, Inc., Laurel, Miss., is considering plans to build a de-boning plant in Goldsboro, N.C.

The Lufkin (Texas) Daily News reported that Pilgrim's Pride Corp., Pittsburg, Texas, will eliminate 450 of 1,650 positions at its Nacoghoches, Texas, plant.
