Robinson Fresh, a leader in fresh produce sourcing and supply chain solutions, announced the donation of more than 50,000 mangos to families in need. Totaling roughly 6,000 pounds, the mango supply was distributed at seven different Hy-Vee locations in Iowa earlier this month, including in Chariton, Cherokee, Denison, Marshalltown, Muscatine, Perry and Storm Lake.
Through the partnership, Hy-Vee customers can now purchase high-quality food items at a reduced price.

Hy-Vee, West Des Moines, Iowa, launched Flashfood, what is said to be the first and only mobile app that partners with grocers to help reduce food waste by allowing shoppers to browse and purchase food items approaching their “best before” date at significantly reduced prices.
The investment will house the grocer's central bakery and produce prepared foods and meal kits.

Hy-Vee Inc. announced plans to invest more than $86 million to build a new production center for prepared foods and meal kits at its Ankeny, Iowa, operation.
To further combat the nation’s food waste issue, Hy-Vee partnered with Robinson Fresh, Eden Prairie, Minn., to offer its unique line of Misfits produce.
