NestFresh, a leader in providing humane, sustainable eggs for over 30 years, announces a complete revamp of its packaging to better convey the NestFresh story and highlight its commitment to animal welfare and small family farmers. The new design features vibrant, color-coded packaging and engaging illustrations, making it easier for consumers to find their favorite NestFresh eggs on grocery store shelves.
“Our old packaging wasn’t telling the complete NestFresh story in the way we felt our farmers deserved,” said Jasen Urena, vice president of NestFresh. “We’re incredibly proud of the small family farmers we support, and wanted to find a way to express our gratitude for them with our product. The new packaging highlights our farmers and our commitment to humane practices, ensuring our hens live natural lives and express their innate behaviors while enjoying the outdoors.”
The revamped packaging aims to create a more memorable brand experience. With color-coded designs, consumers can easily identify and select their preferred NestFresh eggs. This change aligns with NestFresh’s evolution from producing all cage-free eggs in 1991—a revolutionary practice at the time—to now exclusively offering eggs from hens that enjoy the outdoors in meaningful ways, either Free Range or Pasture Raised. All NestFresh farms are Certified Humane by Humane Farm Animal Care, ensuring adherence to rigorous standards that allow hens to live naturally, scratching in the grass and foraging in the sunshine.
NestFresh’s new look combines category data with shopper-friendly designs. The packaging’s new rich, vivid colors and playful illustrations create a sense of connection and warmth, evoking what it feels like to be on a NestFresh farm. This update has already shown an increase in trial and repurchase rates among consumers, confirming that the packaging appeals to the emotions and beliefs of the customers who are bringing NestFresh eggs into their kitchens everyday.
Prioritizing the farmers to be front and center, the new packaging features farmers interacting with hens, bringing a fresh perspective to shoppers who want to support small family farmers. It also emphasizes that all NestFresh hens enjoy the outdoors, showcasing this in the artwork across the entire product line.
While the old packaging used farm photography of actual NestFresh farms, the new design uses vibrant colors to stand out in the busy egg case with an updated logo that refreshes the old “sign” logo into a textured vector graphic.
NestFresh Eggs is proud to be recognized by the ASPCA’s Shop With Your Heart program, a resource to help the public find higher welfare food options, understand food label claims, and avoid factory-farmed foods that don’t align with their values. The ASPCA’s Shop With Your Heart program aims to build a more sustainable, humane and fair food system with resources including lists of welfare-certified farms and products holding higher animal welfare standards.
Consumers can find the new NestFresh packaging at retailers nationwide, including Harris Teeter, Whole Foods Market, Publix, and H-E-B.
