Interstate Warehousing completed the Phase IV expansion at its Indianapolis (Franklin), Ind., cold storage facility. The 140,000-square-foot expansion brings the total size of the facility to 568,000 square feet. Prior to the current addition, the building, originally constructed in 2005, went through expansions in 2008 and 2010.
The Chicago (Joliet), Ill., facility is also undergoing an expansion in 2012. The Joliet warehouse is expanding its freezer capacity with an addition of more than 100,000 square feet of space. This expansion will be operational in September, and will increase the size of that facility to 346,000 square feet.
Company-wide, Interstate Warehousing owns and operates more than 80 million cubic feet of frozen and refrigerated warehousing and distribution space throughout the United States.
“This is an exciting time for Interstate Warehousing,” says Chuck Tippmann, president of Tippmann Group/Interstate Warehousing, Fort Wayne, Ind. “As our customers continue to grow, we look forward to being able to serve them in bigger and better ways through these new additions to our facilities.
