The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, Washington, D.C., granted Toray Plastics (America), Inc. with Interstate Milk Shippers (IMS) certification for single-service products.

The IMS certification signals to milk and dairy product producers that Toray’s packaging-manufacturing processes and packaging materials are recognized as safe for use with dairy applications that are shipped interstate.

“Milk and dairy products manufacturers who uphold the industry’s standards of excellence expect suppliers to have IMS certification,” says Milan Moscaritolo, senior director of sales and marketing for the North Kingstown, R.I., manufacturer of precision-performance polyester, polypropylene and bio-based films. “We are very pleased to let the dairy industry, manufacturers and converters know that we have earned the IMS certification.”
