The American Frozen Food Institute(AFFI) saidKraig Naaszwill lead the McLean, Va.-based organization as president and CEO starting Feb. 1, 2009.
Naasz currently serves as senior advisor to Washington2 Advocates, a government affairs, communications and strategic consulting firm with offices in Washington, D.C. and Bellevue, Wash. He previously has served as president and CEO of the National Mining Association, president of The Fertilizer Institute and president and CEO of the U.S. Apple Association.
"Kraig is a dynamic leader and accomplished trade association executive with more than 25 years of experience in the food and public policy arenas," said AFFI Chairman James Matthews Jr. (H.J. Heinz Co.). "Kraig's passion for the food industry, his bipartisan approach to advocacy and his keen communication and management skills made him the ideal choice to lead our association."
Naasz is an honors graduate of Washington State University , with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, and serves as a trustee of the WSU Foundation.
