LOGISTICS BRIEFS: National retailer Wal-Mart Stores approvedHanson Logistics, St. Joseph, Mich., as a third-party consolidator for Wal-Mart suppliers. Hanson said Wal-Mart's refrigerated and frozen food vendors can use Hanson's Chicago Consolidation Center to store forward inventory. Hanson then will pick orders and consolidate them into truckload shipments bound for all 41 Wal-Mart distribution centers nationwide. . . .PadenCold Refrigerated Services, Norfolk, Va., said it has opened its second location, a former AmeriCold site, in Norfolk. The 1.5 million-cubic-foot facility has about 6,000 pallet positions, freezer and cooler rooms, 11 dock doors and rail service.
