Tyson Foods Inc., Springdale, Ark., said Canadian antitrust officials have approved Tyson's earlier C$105.5 million deal to sellLakeside Farm Industries, a diversified cattle processing and fertilizer business, toXL Foods Ltd., Calgary, Alberta. The agreement was first announced in June 2008 and has since been under review with the Canadian Competition Bureau. Lakeside Farm, Brooks, Alberta, is involved in cattle feeding, slaughtering and processing, as well as retail fertilizer production and farming. XL Foods is part of Canada's Nilsson Bros. Group.
