General Mills Inc., Minneapolis, said it has restructured its Brazilian business and -- while it wants to "increase investment" in the country -- it will stop producing Frescarini refrigerated pasta and Forno de Minas bread products. The move will affect approximately 500 workers at a production facility that produces both lines.
"This will allow us to increase investment in our focus areas, including expansion of our fast growing Haagen-Dazs super-premium ice cream and Nature Valley granola bar businesses in Brazil," said Pablo Pla, managing director of General Mills Brazil.
