The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association saidArthur Boone, 87, died October 6, 2008, and that services were held October 9 in Austin, Texas. Boone was a past chairman of the National Frozen Food Association (1962) and was inducted into the the Frozen Food Industry Hall of Fame in 1994.

Boone graduated in 1943 from Baylor University with a degree in business. He then served in the Navy until 1946. After World War II, Boone started an Austin branch operation for Houston's Glazier Frozen Food Co. He later purchased the branch (1954) and founded Frostex Foods. Frostex became a major regional frozen food foodservice distributor until it merged with Kraft Foods in 1987.
