Citing cost reduction concerns, dairy giantDean Foods Co., Dallas, said it plans to close a PET dairy in Florence, S.C., on Oct. 29, 2010 -- a move that will eliminate 151 jobs.
Industrial Info Resources, Sugar Land, Texas, said contract frozen foods processorsRequest Foods Inc., Holland, Mich., is "well underway" with plans to build a second plant in Holland. Last winter, theHolland (Mich.) Sentinelreported that Request planned to spend $35.3 million and build a 200,000-plus-square-foot additional facility north of its existing plant. Officials said they plan to create 155 of those jobs in the first three years. Request makes nearly 800 different custom frozen entrees, side dishes, appetizers, sauces, desserts and soups.
