Talk about turning up the heat. ConAgra Foods has been testing Marie Callender’s Signature Sautés at Wal-Mart stores. ConAgra says these multi-serve meals use a two-step process where consumers first sauté the entrée and then add a finishing glaze for optimum flavor and quality. The offerings also feature better cuts of meat and larger individually quick frozen vegetables as well as real herbed butters, wine and/or broth. Varieties include Chicken Basil Sauté with Pasta & Artichoke, Garlic Beef Sauté and Vegetables, Herb Sauté Honey Roasted Turkey with Roasted Sweet Potatoes, and Honey-Pepper Glazed Chicken Sauté with Fire-Roasted Peppers. Suggested retail is $6.98.
