Kendall Packaging Corp., Mequon, Wis., announced plans to break ground on a 56,000-square-foot expansion to its Jefferson, Wis., facility, beginning April 26. The addition will increase the plant’s production capacity and double the storage capacity. Project completion is scheduled for late summer of 2013.
“This expansion reflects the steady growth and expanding capabilities we’ve seen over the years,” says Nate Friedl, director of manufacturing. “By doubling our capacity and increasing our production capabilities, we will be able to better serve our customers and build upon our success in the packaging industry.”
The plant upgrade comes on the heels of the launch of Kendall’s natural cheese line and the installation of a 10-color W&H Miraflex press in Jefferson and a 10-color W&H Primaflex at its Pittsburg, Kan., facility. The expansion falls in line with Kendall’s commitment to invest in their facilities and equipment in order to improve efficiencies and workflow.
