Reser’s Fine Foods, Beaverton, Ore., introduced a new line of artisan salads for behind-the-glass deli cases.
“Deli operators need to strike a balance between offering specialty and core deli salads, especially in their bulk or behind-the-glass offerings,” says Peter Sirgy, executive vice president of sales and marketing. “Retailers have been asking for vibrant looking, on-trend salads that can enhance the look of their deli case without requiring a lot of labor. And, consumer interest in grain-based salads, ethnic salads and healthier options is skyrocketing. These new salads offer the perfect combination of convenience, variety and delicious flavors.”
The Stonemill Kitchens artisan salads feature quinoa, bulgur, curry, fresh herbs, agave, nuts, ginger and tabouli and provide variety without the cost of labor to prepare in-house. They come in Traditional Tabouli, Mandarin Wheatberry, Sonoma Style Chicken, Low Fat Agave Roasted Almond Chicken, Cranberry Cashew Tuna, Pesto Orzo Feta, Caprese (pictured) and Thai Noodle deli salad varieties.
