Today’s veggie burger is anything but a meat “substitute.” That’s because Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods, Elmwood Park, N.J., added two new varieties to its Dr Praegers kale veggie burger inbodylineup—Kale Veggie and Black Bean.

“Consumers wanting to eat more superfoods don’t need to look any further than their freezer,” says Larry Praeger, chief executive officer. “Our new Black Bean Burger and Kale Veggie Burger are two of the most nutritious meatless options on the market.”

Dubbed the “queen of greens,” kale boasts more iron than beef. This kale veggie burger is packed with quinoa, brown rice, millet, kale and nine other vegetables. Plus, it is low in sodium, free of GMOs and is a great source of vitamin A.

Protein and fiber-packed black beans provide the ultimate boost for the Black Bean burger, which features black beans and brown rice. It’s also a great source of vegetarian protein with 12 grams per serving.

Both options come with a suggested retail price of $3.99 for a box of four, individually wrapped patties. They are available at select grocery and natural food stores nationwide.
