Maola Milk Brand Consolidates Plants Due to Declining Milk Consumption
Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative, Reston, Va., announced plans to close its New Bern, N.C., milk production plant and move operation to its High Point, N.C., and Newport News, Va., locations. The New Bern plant will then become a branch location.
The milk cooperative produces milk under the Maola Milk brand. The company attributes these moves to declining milk consumption and the rising costs of hauling milk.
