ViskoTeepak, a Kenosha, Wis.-based manufacturer of cellulose, fibrous and plastic casings for the food industry, acquired Vista International Packaging, LLC, a full-line food packaging supplier to U.S. meat and poultry processors. Vista will retain its head office, warehouse and converting facilities in Kenosha, Wis.

The acquisition is the subsequent step for ViskoTeepak to increase market share in the United States. Vista will continue to serve the U.S. market with VistaGel, Nippi edible collagen casings, Fibran non-edible collagen products, non-barrier plastics, pouches, bags and film.

This acquisition also allows both companies to bring products direct-to-market, creates synergies and efficiencies in their operations, allows for direct access to product and equipment development resources, provides insight to global demand and trends and directs access to ViskoTeepak world-class design and manufacturing technology of converting equipment,

The acquisition is scheduled to be finalized Jan. 1, 2015.
