Duane Kenagy was appointed to the newly created position of capital programs executive, responsible for overseeing the port’s capital improvement program. Kenagy has 30 years of experience in engineering and management, and has been with the Moffatt & Nichol engineering consulting firm since 1994, where he most recently was senior vice president. Diane Pierson was appointed to the newly created position of director of project controls. Pierson comes from the City of Hope medical center, where she was project controls manager from 2011-2014.Prior to that, she was chief of project controls for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District from 2000-2011, where her work included oversight of project controls for Army Corps dredging projects at the Port of Long Beach. Betsy Christie was named director of finance. Recently, she served as chief financial officer for container terminal company NYK Terminals from 2008-2013. Before NYK, she worked for LifeMasters Supported SelfCare as chief executive officer, vice president of finance/controller and accounting manager. Lastly, Fred Greco was named new director of maintenance. Greco has 29 years of maintenance management experience with airports, cargo operations, surface transportation, rail and public works. He has been the Public Works operations superintendent with the City of Anaheim since February 2013. Prior to that, he was the deputy director of operations and maintenance for the Sacramento County Airport System from 2002-2012.

On the heels of PACK EXPO International 2014, Katie Bergmann was promoted to senior vice president. Bergmann came to PMMI in 2007, and most recently served as director of administration, an expansion of her former role of human resources director. In her new position, Bergmann will oversee and coordinate administrative duties for PMMI’s Arlington, Va., headquarters, and manage all human resource functions. Meanwhile, Jim Pittas was appointed senior vice president. Pittas came to PMMI as director of expositions in 2000, and was promoted to vice president of tradeshows in 2006. Both Bergmann and Pittas are responsible for the recent acquisition of Summit Media Group’s digital platform and the expansion of the PACK EXPO portfolio of tradeshows.

David Cordani was elected to the board of directors. Cordani is president and CEO of Cigna Corp., and has held a variety of finance and operating positions, including CFO for CIGNA Healthcare and president and COO for Cigna Corp. He was named chief executive officer in 2010. Prior to joining Cigna, Cordani held several senior staff positions at Coopers & Lybrand.

Lowell Richardson was named senior vice president human resources, responsible for overseeing the HR department with a special focus on labor relations, succession planning and talent management. Richardson brings a wealth of senior human resource management experience, including expertise in training and development, talent management, labor relations, benefits management and operations management. For the past seven years, he has been with Dean Foods, where he was director human resources, senior director human resources, and most recently, vice president human resources. Previously, he spent 10 years at Amcor Sunclipse North America in various human resource and management positions.

Jeremy Behler was appointed vice president of strategic analysis, responsible for engaging in transformational initiatives across the organization. Prior to joining Sargento, Behler served as a member of the mergers and acquisition group at Procter and Gamble Co., playing a leadership role on its recent pet care divestitures. He also previously held roles within the strategy, financial planning and analysis, operations, supply chain, sales and marketing and IT departments at Procter and Gamble.

David Gibbs was promoted to global Pizza Hut chief executive officer, effective Jan. 1, 2015, taking over for Scott Bergren, who is retiring at the end of 2014. In his new role, Gibbs will assume responsibility for driving the brand strategy and performance of Pizza Hut globally. Prior to serving as president of Pizza Hut, U.S., Gibbs was the president and CFO for YUM Brands International, leading the finance, IT, supply chain and development functions for the division as well as having general management responsibility for several international markets. Meanwhile, Tracy Skeans was promoted to president, Pizza Hut International, ensuring a clear path to grow Pizza Hut outside the United States. Most recently, Skeans served as chief people officer Pizza Hut, global.

Melanie Galloway was named chief executive officer, bringing a broad range of experience having worked in the food technology industry for over 12 years, most recently as global president of food technologies for Kemin Industries. Prior to Kemin, she worked at FMC Corp., where she held a variety of positions beginning with chemical sales, later promoted to a sales management role, and ultimately to product leadership over their specialty hydrogen peroxide business.
