Lineage Logistics, a Colton, Calif.-based warehousing and logistics company sponsored by Bay Grove Capital LLC, San Francisco, began the expansion of its Tacoma, Wash., cold storage distribution facility. The new project will be completed in 2015 and will close to triple the building’s frozen warehouse capacity. With the expansion, Lineage Logistics’ presence in the region will total nearly 1.5 million square feet of refrigerated warehousing space across five warehouses located in Seattle, Algona, Tacoma and Centralia.
“We are excited to actively support our customers’ growth by providing expanded warehousing and logistics solutions in Tacoma. The expansion, combined with our strong regional team and our continued investment in new building innovations, will enrich our world-class solution offering in the Pacific Northwest,” says Bill Hendricksen, chief executive officer.
“We appreciate the support we’ve received from the Port of Tacoma for this important project,” adds Adam Forste, managing director of Bay Grove. “We are pleased that this investment coincides with the newly announced Seaport Alliance that will support new jobs and enhance the region’s leading role in international trade.”
The expansion will include new innovations in energy efficiency and automation as well as expanded dock capacity to accommodate cross-dock activity and intermodal rail business. Located at 2302 Milwaukee Way, the facility has immediate access to the Port of Tacoma, connects directly with highways I-5, I-90, SR167 and SR18 and has rail access through Union Pacific and BNSF switches. Lineage Freight Management also offers sophisticated transportation solutions within the region and on a national basis.
