Palermo Villa, Inc., Milwaukee, Wis., introduced a new pizza line, Mission Pizza Co., which will expand upon the pizza maker’s longstanding efforts to fight hunger.
Through the new line, Palermo’s hopes to donate up to 500,000 pizzas throughout the Midwest in the next year. Case in point: for every five Mission pizzas sold, Palermo’s will donate one additional frozen pizza to charitable organizations working to address hunger in the communities where the pizzas are available for purchase. The new line is available in select stores in Milwaukee; Chicago; Des Moines, Iowa; Green Bay, Wis.; Kansas City, Mo.; Madison, Wis.; and Champaign, Ill.
The thin crust pizza boasts a suggested retail price of $3-5 and comes in Cheese, Combination, Italian Sausage, Pepperoni and Supreme.
“Food is essential, and there are many people in America without resources to feed themselves or their families,” says Laurie Fallucca, chief creative officer. “It is sad to think that roughly 14% of U.S. households cannot provide a meal for their loved ones. The mission of Mission Pizza Co. is to help feed people in need and encourage those who enjoy our pizzas to join with us in making a difference in their own communities.”
