The annual IIAR Industrial Refrigeration Conference & Exhibition is said to be the largest meeting in the world dedicated exclusively to industrial refrigeration.
The 2016 IIAR Industrial Refrigeration Conference & Exhibition, taking place March 20-23 at the Caribe Royale All-Suite Hotel and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., offers an unrivaled opportunity for companies to showcase their latest products, services, innovations and technologies and for attendees to meet, network and learn from other industry professionals.
Kicking off the event will be keynote speaker Dr. Joe MacInnis, a physician-scientist, author and deep-sea explorer, who has led more than 30 expeditions into the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic Oceans and written several books about undersea exploration. In the 1960s, MacInnis was the medical director of the American Man-in-Sea program and worked on the U.S. Navy’s Sea Lab project. He was also an advisor to the Titanic discovery team and co-leader of the expedition to film Titanic in Imax format. In his speeches, he shares why values of courage, communication and teamwork enhance performance under the ocean and in the corporate world.
Meanwhile, the IIAR Technical Program will feature peer-reviewed technical paper presentations, experiential workshops and interactive panels on topics ranging from global refrigerant trends to determining pressure drop through valves. As an added bonus, all technical papers presented in English will be offered with simultaneous interpretation in Spanish and vice versa.
New to the conference is the IIAR 2 Education Program, a one-of-a-kind learning experience that outlines the basic principles of IIAR 2, the benchmark safety code standard for the safe, reliable and efficient design of ammonia refrigeration systems. Titled “Standard for Safe Design of Closed-Circuit Ammonia Refrigeration Systems,” this program is a unique opportunity to learn from the industry experts who contributed to the revision of this standard. It will give attendees an overview of how the updates will impact plant and equipment design as well as regulatory compliance expectations.
Back after a several-year hiatus is the Ammonia Refrigeration Foundation (ARF) Golf Tournament, named William E. Kahlert Memorial Golf Tournament, in honor of Bill Kahlert, former IIAR chairman and leader in the refrigeration industry.
The annual IIAR Industrial Refrigeration Conference & Exhibition is hosted by the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR), Alexandria, Va.
