Yusen Logistics, Secaucus, N.J.,strengthened its logistics presence in Duisburg, Germany, by acquiring a new warehouse and expanding storage capacity by 93,656 square feet.
The 667,362-square-foot multi-warehouse site is located in the largest inland port in Europe, with excellent access to major road networks and in close proximity to a container terminal with rail and inland waterway connections to the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp.
With the launch of the new warehouse, Yusen Logistics also expanded its value-added services and increased its focus on the optimal integration of customer value chains.
Yusen Logistics also expanded the returns-logistics area and invested in a fully-automated sorting machine that quickly and accurately sorts parcels according to customer, destination and article, thus improving efficiencies and minimizing opportunity for error.
"With this investment, we are expanding opportunities in the future to grow profitably and to offer our customers tailored solutions," says Mario Cavallucci, managing director of Yusen Logistics Germany.
