Morgan Corp., a Morgantown, Pa.-based manufacturer of medium-duty truck bodies for the refrigerated foods industry, announced plans to further expand its manufacturing footprint into the Midwest.
A site search is underway in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Michigan to select a location capable of supporting the production of up to 3,000 truck bodies annually with plans to open and become operational during early 2017. The facility will encompass an estimated 160,000 square feet and is expected to employ approximately 175 team members.
“Our business continues to expand rapidly as we launch new products and gain market share,” says Norb Markert, president and COO. “This has led us to conclude that we must install additional capacity to meet the growing needs and demands of our current and future customers. With a total of 12 facilities in the U.S. and Canada, we know that Morgan’s proximity to its customers is an important part of improving customer service. Our decision to operate a plant in the Midwest will enable Morgan to better meet the needs of its customers and to more aggressively compete in this strategic region.”
Morgan produces Class 3 to Class 7 (GVW) box truck/straight truck bodies to accommodate cargo of every configuration, including insulated and refrigerated units.
