Duke Food Productions, a Greenville, S.C.-based industrial food manufacturer of branded and private label brands, acquired a new manufacturing facility in Bonham, Texas. The 110,000-square-foot plant marks the company's first expansion outside of South Carolina. The $10 million project is expected to add 200 new full-time jobs over the next five years.
"We are very excited to become a part of the Bonham community," says Andrew Smart, chief executive officer. "Bonham represents the values and standards we as an organization believe in. You can't find a finer community to be a part of. We look forward to working together to create jobs and opportunity for the people of Texas."
The manufacturing plant in Bonham is set to open in the second quarter of 2017. Located on 26 acres approximately 60 miles north of Dallas, the facility will manufacture ready-to-eat dips, salads, spreads, salsas and fresh and frozen bakery products for grocery chains and restaurants nationwide.
"Growing our business west will increase our strategic capabilities," says Smart. "This was a natural next step for our business."
In addition to their expansion west, Duke is also relocating its corporate headquarters to downtown Greenville, S.C., where the company was originally founded nearly 100 years ago. Duke will occupy 12,000 square feet of space in the new building, which is slated to open in January 2017.
"This is an incredible time for the Duke brand," says Smart. "We couldn't be more excited about what the future holds."
