Triumph Foods announced plans to expand its St. Joseph, Mo., pork processing headquarters plant.
The $1.5 million project is projected to create about 72 new jobs and will add new machinery and equipment.
The St. Joseph plant has been in operation since 2006, processing in excess of 6 million hogs a year.
In 2015, Seaboard Foods, Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Triumph Foods formed a joint venture with equal ownership where Seaboard Foods sells and markets the pork products processed at the St. Joseph plant.
