ARCO Design/Build, Atlanta, completed the Hutt Logistics and Hutt Trucking freezer expansion in Hudsonville, Mich.
The additional 81,000-square-foot freezer and cold dock space more than doubles the facility’s total deep-frozen storage capacity, allowing for over 19,000 pallets. The expansion is also expected to create 30 full-time jobs throughout the warehousing and trucking divisions.
“Our customers are growing, and we anticipated the need to expand in Hudsonville since acquiring the facility in 2016,” says Jim Hutt, chief executive officer of Hutt, Holland, Mich. “With our Holland-based transportation operations, Hudsonville has been a great hub for Hutt’s logistics operations. The decision to increase our deep-frozen warehousing capabilities in Hudsonville was the logical next step in our growth.”
ARCO completed the new freezer in just six month from breaking ground.
“From the beginning, we knew that the desired schedule was very aggressive. A huge contributing factor that led to the success of this project was the like-mindedness and shared culture of all parties involved. Working with Hutt, the City of Hudsonville and the West Michigan community was truly a pleasure and a very rewarding experience,” adds Josh Cronan, project manager.
