The HPP Council, an industry council formed by PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, and the Reston, Va.-based owner of the PACK EXPO tradeshows to address the advancements of high-pressure processing (HPP), released the new HPP Cold Pressure Consumer Seal.
Similar to the “Organic Seal,” this seal verifies that the food product was produced using HPP technologies.
The seal will be featured on the outside of juice packaging beginning early 2018.
The HPP Council, also known as the Cold Pressure Council, consists of nine founding members, including the following HPP food companies—JBT/Avure Technologies, Erlanger, Ky.; Hiperbaric, Miami, Fla.; American Pasteurization Co., Wauwatosa, Wis.; Universal Pasteurization, Malvern, Pa.; Suja Juice, Oceanside, Calif.; Campbell Soup Co., Camden, N.J.; Evolution Fresh, Monrovia, Calif.; West Liberty Foods, West Liberty, Iowa; and Good Foods Group, Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
