Alden’s Organic, Eugene, Ore., introduced clean, organic versions of its classic ice cream flavors—Birthday Cake, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Peanut Butter Fudge.
“At Alden’s, we make ice cream using ingredients you can feel great about eating,” says Michelle Hunt, vice president of marketing. “All of the delicious mix-ins we use – icing, fudge and cookie dough – are as simple, clean and delicious as our organic milk and cream.”
The cleaner versions use organic ingredients, including milk and cream from cows not treated with rBST or antibiotics and leave out artificial ingredients.
The scoop on the three new flavors:
Organic Birthday Cake is rich cake-flavored ice cream with ribbons of purple icing.
Organic Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough consist of creamy vanilla ice cream with bites of organic chocolate chip cookie dough and chocolate chips.
Organic Peanut Butter Fudge is sweet and salty peanut butter ice cream with swirls of organic fudge and peanut butter.
Alden’s Organic will be available in 1.5-quart cartons in natural food stores and conventional grocers nationwide beginning in February for a suggested retail price of $6.99-7.99.
